Department to announce Patronage within 2 Months

The Minister for Education & Skills, Ruairí Quinn, announced that the patronage of the Post-Primary Schools due to open in 2013-14 will be decided within the next 2 months (See link below).
We are hopeful that the Department will find favour with our 4 year campaign to establish a Gaelcoláiste in Balbriggan. Coláiste Ghlór na Mara is soundly based on: -
- Strong parent/student demand
- Offering continuity for children at Gaelscoileanna & an alternative option for children coming from English language National Schools
- Serving a wide catchment area (North County Dublin, East Meath & South Louth)

Coláiste Ghlór na Mara are currently awaiting decision from the Department of Education & Skills on the patronage of the Gaelcoláiste to be located in Balbriggan.
The Founding Committee of Coláiste Ghlór na Mara submitted a very strong case under the patronage of Foras Pátrúnachta to be selected as the successful patron, the submission was presented to the Department in February.
The Department of Education & Skills have not given a date when the decision will be announced as yet, however it is hoped that this process will be concluded by the end of this school year.
